How To “Glow” From The Inside Out

Did you know that your gut and skin talk to each other?

In fact, this ongoing dialogue they share has a name...

It’s called the gut-skin axis.

Often, when the gut is unhappy, the first one to let you know is your skin.

Acne, rosacea, dryness, rashes, excess wrinkles, eczema, psoriasis and more...

These skin conditions are all indications that your gut health might be poor.

Which is why getting your digestive health in order is so important for experiencing

clear, glowing skin.

But first you should understand WHY gut irritation causes your skin to lose its luster...

You see, your gut provides a barrier between the inner workings of your intestine and

the rest of your body.

Things like food allergies, alcohol, crummy diets full of processed junk, and illnesses can

all irritate your gut and cause inflammation to spread throughout your body.

When your gut becomes inflamed, two things happen:

1. Your body sounds the alarm to trigger your stress response and fight

whatever is causing the inflammation.

2. The protective barrier in your gut breaks down, allowing nasty bacteria

to escape and run rampant around your body.

Now you have inflammation everywhere (systemic inflammation) and guess who gets

caught in the middle...

Yep, your precious skin.

The systemic inflammation causes your skin to produce less antimicrobial peptides,

which weakens your skin’s defenses.

This “leaky skin” is a prime breeding ground for skin infections.

So now you’re probably wondering, “what the heck can I do to make sure my gut is

healthy?!”

Well, if you’re experiencing skin problems and your digestive health is

feeling off, it’s possible that your “gut critters” are out of whack.

By “critters,” I mean the trillions of bacteria in your gut...

The GOOD bacteria that helps us digest and absorb nutrients from the food we eat.

These nutrients - including vitamins A, C, E, K2, the whole B vitamin spectrum, along

with the minerals selenium, zinc, silica and sulfur, and omega-3 fats - are all what I call

“skin-saving” nutrients.

If you’ve ever gone out for a night on the town and indulged in a few alcoholic beverages,

you probably woke up with a splitting headache and weird, gurgling noises coming from

your intestines...

This is because your gut bacteria have taken a hit and aren’t able to absorb the nutrients

your skin needs to feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

So here’s how I recommend healing your gut:

Get yourself some PREbiotics and PRObiotics.

Prebiotics nourish the healthy bacteria you already have, and you can find them in

beans, fruits, and starchy vegetables.

Probiotics contain healthy bacteria and can top up your supply. You can find them in

fermented foods, such as kimchi and kefir, or a high-quality probiotic supplement.

Take care of your gut and it will reward you with beautiful, ageless skin for years to

come.
